Pundit Simon Jordan has delivered his verdict on Dean Henderson being ineligible to play for Nottingham Forest against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
On-loan United goalkeeper Henderson was a hero for Forest as they beat Wolves in a penalty shootout in the quarter-finals at the City Ground on Wednesday night. But he won’t be able to play against his parent club in the last-four tie unless United give him written permission, which is very unlikely.
Jordan discussed the situation on talkSPORT today with host Jim White, who described it as “ridiculous” and argued the rule should be changed to allow loaned out players to play against their parent clubs.

“It’s a difficult one because it goes to the heart of sporting integrity,” replied Jordan.
“You can find yourself in a slightly conflicted position if your parent club has you playing against them, and it might bring people into the position where they find themselves challenged about how well they should perform against the side that is ultimately their employer.”
“Imagine if Dean Henderson had a stinker playing against the parent club," he added.
"The argument would be… we in the media would be going ‘that don’t smell right’.”
