Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper and the club's much-criticised transfer business have been backed by former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan ahead of the East Midlands derby defeat to Leicester City.
In the build-up to Monday night's match, there was talk of it being a match where the losers will be parting ways with their managers in the aftermath. For Jordan, that talk is 'laughable' considering the circumstances at the City Ground this summer.
Unlike many a pundit this season, the broadcaster has acknowledged the "lack of resources" that the Reds had after securing promotion, which they had to supplement with what he describes as a "ridiculous galley of players". As a result, Jordan has sympathy for Cooper amid all of the speculation.

"Any talk of Steve Cooper getting the sack is laughable," Jordan told talkSPORT. "I would have immense sympathy if this particular game was a determining factor of Steve Cooper's future at Nottingham Forest.
"I'd have less sympathy for Brendan Rodgers, because of the circumstances, but Steve Cooper, whether it's right or wrong, and whether he's been part of it or not, has brought in this ridiculous galley of players to be able to try and supplement the lack of resources they had there in the first place.
"And, at the same time, with a team that hasn't been in the Premier League for 23 years, which is finding its way. I think, frankly, the idea, and, of course, the narrative has to be built up to sell a game, that this is a game which would determine the future of two managers, I think is rather silly.
"I do think that if Brendan Rodgers loses this game, I would not be surprised to read the headlines tomorrow morning that he's been fired. If Nottingham Forest lose this game and Steve Cooper is to be fired, I think it would be preposterous."
