Former Crystal Palace owner turned pundit Simon Jordan has pointed to the reaction of Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper against Brighton, with the win giving the Reds ‘a chance’ of survival.
Forest came from behind at the City Ground on Wednesday night to take all three points against the Seagulls in a 3-1 win. It was the first time in 12 games that the side had recorded a victory in the Premier League.
Both the goals and full-time whistle prompted celebrations in both the stands and on the touchline. At one point Cooper dropped to his knees in delight as the club picked up what could be a huge win in the fight against relegation.

The win moved Forest out of the relegation zone ahead of Everton’s clash against Newcastle on Thursday night. They are next in action when they take on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Assessing Forest’s win on TalkSPORT, Jordan has outlined how the opponents exploits just days earlier may have helped the Reds, but did praise the spirit and explained how it could now give Forest momentum for the final five games of the campaign.
“There was no better time to play Brighton was there? With all due respect, a team that has just got knocked out of an FA Cup semi-final on penalties after extra time, three days ago, is possibly going to be a team that you would like to play,” he said.
“Fair play to Nottingham Forest.. There was obviously an expectation that Brighton were going to do what Brighton do which is to beat teams, and Nottingham Forest have been feeble and they’ve given themselves a chance.
“But they’re all at it at this moment in time, they’re all winning games you don’t expect them to win, coming out with big results that are shovelling the guys around them. That makes it so much more difficult for the run-in for Everton and Leeds because Forest have now picked up a win and that is momentum.
“You saw Steve Cooper’s reaction, this was not the reaction of a manager taking it in his stride, this was a manager that was moderately elated at that outcome.”
