Simon Cowell says he's 'learnt his lesson' after crashing e-bike without helmet

Simon Cowell says he has 'learnt his lesson' after falling from his electric bike when cycling without a helmet.

But the media mogul, 62, isn't planning to pack in pedalling around the Capital just yet as he put the fall down to a nasty accident, saying 'the wheels just went under me.'

Simon further explained how he had a brief lapse of concentration and combined with wet roads saw him fall from his Spitzing Evolution S-Pedelec bike - which has top speeds of 27 miles per hour.

He told waiting reporters' for ITV outside his London home that he 'doesn't remember much' about what happens but considers himself lucky and praised the three passes-by who stopped the traffic and intervened in his recovery.

And although the incident has left him with an injury he admitted his biggest fear was facing his seven-year-old son, Eric, who gave him “the biggest telling off''.

In a almost comical role swap scenario, the star recalled: “So, it was kind of like when I was a child, I was afraid of going home when I'd done something wrong.

“It was literally that and I got the biggest telling off - 'daddy you didn't wear a helmet', blah, blah, blah. So yeah, lesson learnt. It could have been worse if I'm being honest."

The TV producer's latest injury comes just over two years since he crashed in the US and broke his back.

But the X Factor judge said it hasn't put him off and when asked if it's the end of the road for his cycling he said:“I'm just going to change my tyres and be more careful.”

Simon, who suffered the injury last Thursday, showed off his broken arm sporting a neon yellow cast on his right arm signed by his son and animals.
