Simon Cowell has pulled out of filming for Britain’s Got Talent auditions after testing positive for Covid.
It is the latest set-back for the music mogul, who broke his arm in an e-bike accident several days ago.
The 62-year-old was absent from the auditions in London on Thursday with three of his fellow judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams continuing in his absence.
He is now self-isolating at home with the virus. His spokesperson told media outlets: "Simon was unable to attend filming today as he was isolating at home after testing positive for Covid-19”.
It is not clear how long he will be away from filming the latest BGT series for.
News of his positive test comes just after his second e-bike accident.
Cowell told Mail Online that he is feeling “much better” after the incident near his home in west London, which left him sporting a yellow cast.
The star is reported to have hit a wet patch before flying over the handlebars.
A source told the Mirror: “He went flying over the handlebars into the middle of the road and is lucky to be alive as he wasn’t wearing a helmet.
"There was blood pouring from his face but luckily he managed to get some help from passers by.
"He was taken to hospital and X-rays showed he broke his arm.”
He was reportedly helped by passers-by before an ambulance arrived.
Cowell, known for launching the careers of musical acts on shows Britain’s Got Talent and the X-Factor, previously suffered an e-bike accident in America in August 2020.
That incident left him needing six-hours of surgery to his back, with the star saying at the time: “I nearly smashed my spine to pieces.”
