Simon Cowell was left looking less than impressed yet a little humoured when his son Eric whacked him in the face with a plastic arrow over the weekend.
The X Factor mogul, 61, was pictured with the toy stuck to his forehead after Eric, 7, decided to aim the arrow in his famous dad’s direction while the pair were out for dinner in California.
While dining in the Malibu restaurant, Simon was also joined by his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, 44, actress Terri Seymour, and a handful of other close friends before his youngster decided to take aim with the arrow.
Lovebirds Simon and Lauren welcomed Eric on Valentine's Day in 2014.
Since becoming a dad, music mogul Simon has revealed that his life ‘only really began’ one Eric came along.
“He’s the world’s cutest little boy. I’ve got to tell you; he’s going to be my little right-hand man — anything he likes I like,” he told in a 2017 interview.
“It only really began when Eric was born. Life is so good.”
Simon’s mini-me son also joined him on The X Factor a number of times, but sadly, Eric’s reign as guest judge has been put to a permanent stop after the show was axed last month after 17 years.
Sources said the mastermind behind the ITV show made the decision before the show ‘become a bit of a joke’.
After securing around 10 million viewers at the peak of its popularity, the reality series suffered a sharp decline in ratings in recent years with Simon deciding to call it a day.
But sources close to Simon suggest there is very little appetite for the series to return, even if auditions were possible for a 2022 series.
An insider told The Mirror: "Simon always has a lot going on and with new formats, he does not need to revive The X Factor at the moment.
"It made huge stars of people like Leona Lewis and One Direction but in truth none of the recent winners have gone on to big things and crucially they have not made Simon much money.
"Throw in the fact ratings have plummeted and it is not a series ITV want to spend tens of millions of pounds on straight after a pandemic. It makes sense to end things now."
Simon is now working on a brand-new Saturday prime time show Walk The Line.
The series is expected to fill a prime-time Saturday night slot for ITV.
He also has America's Got Talent in the States and will launch a Vegas spin off show.
Simon also has a deal with ITV to keep Britain's Got Talent on the air until 2022.
