Simon Cowell hints at X Factor return promising 'better' experience for contestants

Simon Cowell has hinted that The X Factor could one day make a return.

The hit ITV show ran for around 445 episodes across 15 series until its final episode in December 2018. It saw the success of several singers as they became famous worldwide, including One Direction, Little Mix, Olly Murs and Leona Lewis.

Other contestants went on to make a name for themselves in the television industry with Stacey Solomon and Rylan Clark being seen often on ITV. The head judge still works closely with Lucy Spraggan and the two of them appeared on The One Show on BBC One on Thursday night.

Simon still produces music for the former contestant and they were there to promote her latest single - Balance.

Of course, while having him on there host Alex Jones couldn't help but ask about the potential of X Factor's return. Simon explained it would be more difficult to create success from the show in this day and age.

He said: "There are something like 100,000 songs uploaded every day...it's very difficult to get a record deal. I would argue it's harder today to get a record deal than ever. The show did what it intended to do...it did launch careers."

But Lucy chimed in for plans of what would happen if the show were to make a comeback. She said: "Simon and I would love to make it a better show for contestants, and for the longevity of contestants."

Simon smiled as he added: "There might be a plan here. There might be a conversation."
