Simon Cowell deletes tweet after fans say they 'don't recognise him'

Fans have been taken aback by Simon Cowell's new appearance in a video on Twitter appealing for Britain's Got Talent contestants. Simon has since deleted the video after receiving many messages from fans, with some saying they no longer recognise the talent judge.

The music mogul and TV judge was inundated with concerned remarks from fans, as BirminghamLive reports. One said: "Holy moly I nearly didn't recognise him then." and another added: "I’m old enough to remember when Simon Cowell looked like an actual human".

A third said: "Not one for slagging someone’s appearance but his face looks like it’s melting." and another added: "LOOK AT HIS FACE! JUST LOOK AT HIS FACE!" A fifth said: "Simon Cowell brought to you via Nintendo Gamecube it seems."

Simon, who has undergone plastic surgery, has admitted that he "might have gone a bit too far" with the changes he has made. He told The Sun: "There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day, and didn’t recognise it as me first of all."

Simon has recently said he may "never appear on screen again". Discussing the potential return of The X Factor's UK and international versions, Simon said: "I’m not desperate to be on TV. I would only do it if there was a purpose to it. So yes, those shows aside, it’s possible I won’t appear on screen again. If X Factor doesn’t come back, I won’t be looking for other shows to appear on. I don’t want to be just a TV personality."

Earlier this year, rumours began to circulate that Simon, 63, has plans to reboot The X Factor, which last aired in December 2018. He said that it was "more likely than not" that the UK version will return in 2024.
