Simon Cowell covered in slime on Britain's Got Talent after act goes wrong

Simon Cowell was covered in slime by an act on Britain's Got Talent tonight.

Things were going well on the ITV talent show tonight, with a string of acts impressing the judges, audience and viewers at home, but it soon turned quite different when TV personality Mr Blobby appeared on the stage and was ready to cause chaos.

As part of their act, they asked Amanda Holden to choose a card but threw them all away when Amanda chose the wrong one, and when they tried to get rid of the red buzzer under a hat, and it didn't work, they decided to buzz themselves.

However, Simon was saved for the final part of the magic trick act, where he was asked to get into a disappearing box. They opened the door for him and he stepped in, with Amanda, Alesha and Bruno looking on in shock.

They tried it once and Simon was still there when the door opened again, but as Mr Blobby closed the door once more to try the trick again, slime could be seen falling down on Simon, leaving all the judges absolutely shocked.

Simon seemed very unimpressed, looking at Mr Blobby as the bright pink slime cascaded down onto him. Mr Blobby helped Simon out of the chair, before trying to give him a hug but he refused.

"Don't touch me, don't go near me," he said, as the others shouted and laughed and encouraged the audience to get involved too.

As he headed back to the judging panel, he pressed his red button and Amanda's, which earned a boo from the crowd. Amanda told him he still looked really handsome, as Alesha and Bruno pressed their two buzzers and the act ended.

Simon tried to hug the others, as the three of them ran away with Amanda remarking, "I have no shoes". Ant and Dec were also chased by Mr Blobby, with Dec managing to escape Mr Blobby's clutches. However, he was soon met by Simon who hugged him and they both ended up covered in slime, as did his co-presenter Ant.

Fans tuning into the show loved the skit and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

"mr blobby sliming simon cowell was peak television," one wrote, as a second added: "Mr Blobby gunging Simon and taking over #BGT is actual TV royalty instead of the other nonsense."

A third penned: "Simon Cowell getting gunged on TV is the funniest thing I've seen in years!"
