Simon Cowell appears to suffer razor malfunction for Britain's Got Talent launch

Simon Cowell appeared to have suffered a razor malfunction as he stepped out with uneven facial hair at the Britain’s Got Talent photocall.

The 65-year-old attended the press launch on Wednesday alongside fellow judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli.

The music mogul wore his familiar rose-tinted glasses, a long-sleeved black jumper and a pair of black trousers.

Despite his suave appearance, it was Cowell’s facial hair that caught the public's attention, as a portion of his moustache appeared to be missing.

The reason for this remains unclear.

The 18th series of the hit talent show will return to our screens on Saturday February 22 at 7pm on ITV1, STV and ITVX. It will be the longest series ever, showing up to four months of episodes.

Episodes will air each Saturday night, replacing the traditional nightly episodes, and the semi-finals will be shown weekly on Saturdays too.

A new trailer video for the upcoming series sees acrobatic acts flip across the stage, a drummer covered in paint as he rocks out on his kit and a pole dancer dressed in a bird mask.

It also featured a fire-wielding magician, dance tropes and a basketball player landing a slam dunk into a very high net.

Social media star KSI is also set to appear as a guest judge as he fills in for Tonioli on a handful of audition days.

British music star, YouTube personality and boxer KSI filled in on three audition days, including in Blackpool, while Tonioli fulfilled filming commitments in the US.

KSI, real name Olajide JJ Olatunji, previously said he was “so excited” to be invited to join the judging panel after watching Britain’s Got Talent through the years.
