The boss of a major Ayrshire restaurant chain is to make a bold move into Silverburn Shopping Centre.
Chris Steele will open his latest eaterie inside the giant mall within weeks.
Swooping on a prime spot within the complex, Stàilinn Scottish Kitchen will open within the unit formerly occupied by Italian firm Prezzo.
The move represents a significant six figure investment for Steele, whose independent group, Kitchen 77, runs four Ayrshire venues - Arthur Street Kitchen, Hollybush Inn, Stage Door Café and Drunken Coo Steakhoose.
Stàilinn will be his first city venue, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in the "finest home-cooked Scottish style."
Steele said today that up to 25 jobs will be created at the family-friendly restaurant, which will be located above Heavenly Desserts with an external entrance from the centre's 'red' car park.
He told Ayrshire Live: "As a local boy this has always been the dream to make a big move up the road like this.
"Stàilinn will be a mix of everything we are renowned for at our venues in Ayrshire - good quality food with service to match.
"There will also be familiarity for customers as Shona Robertson, who has been with us for seven years at both ASK and the Drunken Coo, is making the move to manage this new venue.
"We’ve built a strong reputation across Ayrshire but with big ambitions for further growth, it’s a really exciting time to open in Glasgow."
The 75-cover restaurant will trade seven days per week with operating hours of 9.30am-11pm.
David Pierotti, General Manager of Silverburn, added: “Glasgow has an enviable dining scene and our diverse offering provides opportunity for international and independent brands all under one roof.
"Over the past five months alone we’ve welcomed two new restaurants to our Winter Garden with Döner Shack and The Real Greek.
"We look forward to launching Stàilinn at Silverburn and providing our guests with even more choice during their visit.”
Stàilinn Scottish Kitchen is recruiting at Silverburn for limited vacancies including chefs. For more information visit, Indeed, @StailinnSK on Facebook or contact kitchen77ltd@yahoo.com.
