Silent Witness returns for its 25th series next week, and there's a Liverpool twist in the BBC One show.
The new season sees the dramatic return of Amanda Burton as Sam Ryan, and opens on the Liverpool waterfront with a gripping assassination attempt. The city is favoured by filmmakers, often doubling up as locations such as New York or London, but Silent Witness will showcase Liverpool's landmarks in all their glory.
Emilia Fox and the rest of the cast filmed for over a week in the city last year, and the first episode opens with a helicopter landing outside the Liver Building.

Silent Witness is the latest high-profile production to have been shot in Liverpool following the recent releases of The Batman, Peaky Blinders 6, The Ipcress File and The Responder, alongside the recent BAFTA-winning Liverpool dramas Time and Help.
Executive producer Lawrence Till said: “We chose Liverpool as our opening location for Silent Witness series 25 as it offers a wide range of locations of scale and impact and you would believe that the national launch of an health passporting scheme would happen here. The city is fantastically film friendly and offered an enthusiastic and open armed welcome.”
Silent Witness begins on Monday (May 23) at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer . The second episode will follow on Tuesday, May 24, at 9pm.
