'Silencing the haters' - Chelsea fans love what Hakim Ziyech did vs Brighton

Chelsea were desperate to bounce back to winning ways against Brighton on Tuesday night following their weekend defeat to Manchester City.

Thomas Tuchel's side were left 13 points behind City as a result of the 1-0 loss and only a convincing win against the Seagulls could restore some positivity among many supporters.

While some in Chelsea's side impressed at the Etihad Stadium, the Blues were found wanting in attack yet again.

On multiple occasions, promising positions were worked only for the final ball from Hakim Ziyech or Christian Pulisic to be lacking, and for Romelu Lukaku to fire off target instead.

Many fans, therefore, were disappointed to see two of the trio starting against Brighton with Lukaku and Ziyech in the starting XI.

However, the latter went a good way to silencing his critics in the first half with an excellent long-range strike to put the Blues 1-0 up at half-time.

A lay-off from N'Golo Kante allowed the Moroccan to fire past Robert Sanchez at his near post, although he did not look too delighted during his celebration.

But plenty of Chelsea fans took to Twitter in the aftermath to show Ziyech some love.
