Sikkim Assembly Polls: SKM for a clean sweep in the state

Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang

Gangtok: The ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) seems headed for a sweep with 16 win and leading in 15 in the 32-member Sikkim Assembly, where counting is underway on Sunday.

The main opposition, the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), is ahead in only one seat.

Chief Minister and SKM supremo Prem Singh Tamang, who is contesting from Rhenock and Soreng-Chakung seats, has taken sustainable leads over his rivals in both seats.

Tamang's wife, Krishna Kumari, is also in the lead from Namchi-Singhithang constituency on SKM ticket.

The Sikkim Assembly polls were held on April 19. (with Agency inputs)
