The majority of flights at Bristol Airport are being 'significantly delayed' this evening (October 23) due to heavy rain, according to reports.
Traffic monitoring site, Inrix, states that, 'due to a large band of heavy rain and thunderstorms, a majority of flights are significantly being delayed. Passengers are being advised to check the status of their flight before travelling.'
Heavy rain has hit large parts of the south west today, making driving conditions tricky.
Gloucestershire Live reported that huge puddles formed along the A46 Shurdington Road between Gloucester and Cheltenham. Drivers had to slow down and stop to allow cars on the other side to pass through a particular big puddle at the junction with Whitelands Lane.
Other puddles formed along the road, while a car was reported to have been stuck in floods at Bream. There were also lane closures on the M5 motorway.
A weather warning for thunder covering the Bristol region has been issued by the Met Office and is in force until 5am tomorrow (October 24).
The Met Office warning covers large parts of England including the Bristol area. It warns that the heavy rain and thunderstorms could lead to flooding and disruption.
