Don Fregulia, the operations section chief with the California Interagency Management Team 5, provided an update on the progress made in containing the Eaton Fire. Fregulia expressed optimism, stating that fire officials anticipate gaining significant containment on parts of the fire by Friday afternoon and evening.
He highlighted the efforts of the crews, noting the 'really good progress' made along the fire's edge. Referring to a map of the fire burning above Sierra Madre, which borders Pasadena to the northeast, Fregulia emphasized the ongoing work required to address the damage in the front country.
Recognizing the extensive nature of the task ahead, Fregulia acknowledged that it will take 'many, many days' to fully address the impact of the fire. He urged the public to remain patient as firefighting teams continue their efforts to contain and extinguish the blaze.
