Sick Scots handyman texted customer saying he saw up her skirt

A pervert handyman sent obscene texts to a customer telling her he’d seen up her skirt while working at her home.

Marc Anderson messaged the woman saying he felt “guilty” taking £40 from her for the job, adding: “I should have paid you.”

The 49-year-old told the victim he saw up her skirt while in her house earlier that day.

The horrified woman, who can’t be named for legal reasons, contacted police.

Anderson appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday and pled guilty to a charge of sending texts of a grossly offensive or indecent, obscene or menacing character by telling the woman he’d seen her naked private parts.

Fiscal depute Drew Long said the victim had employed Anderson as a handyman after finding his services online.

Mr Long said Anderson carried out work at her property on a number of occasions.

The court heard Anderson undertook jobs on March 27 last year and left the address with “no complaints about his behaviour”.

Mr Long said Anderson later sent a text which said: “I feel a bit guilty about taking £40 off you considering I saw up your skirt a couple of times”.

The accused then messaged: “I should have paid you.”

The court heard a later text message said: “I’m so sorry. I got so horny. I know I can’t come back.”

Defence agent Angela Craig said Anderson, of Haddington, East Lothian, was a single man who was currently on benefits.

Ms Craig said: “He is thoroughly ashamed of having behaved this way.”

The solicitor said her client “had some drinks” before sending the texts “although that doesn’t excuse it”.

She said Anderson’s actions were “fully out of character”.

Sheriff Graham Primrose QC told Anderson: “This was a nasty offence committed after you visited the complainer in her home.”

The sheriff added Anderson had “no doubt caused her great upset” and deferred sentence until next month for reports.
