Detectives are hunting a sick night prowler after a woman was sexually assaulted in Ayrshire at the weekend.
The victim, a 21-year-old woman, was attacked at around 1.30am on Sunday while on Prestwick's Main Street near to Boydfield Gardens.
The suspect ran off via Boydfield Gardens, onto Station Road, before running into Midton Road.
The perpetrator is described as white, around 30-40 years of age with short, dark hair with a local accent. He was wearing a dark-coloured jacket, light blue jeans and dark-coloured footwear.
Police have launched an appeal for information following the incident.
Officers are currently gathering relevant CCTV footage and reviewing it for any additional information.
Detective Constable Graham Cuthill said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have any information about this incident to get in touch. If anyone saw or noticed anything suspicious, or has any information on the suspect, please do get in touch with us. In particular, anyone with a dash cam is asked to check the footage as it may have captured images which could assist the investigation.”
