Police are hunting two thugs who seriously assaulted a man at a shopping complex in Irvine.
Officers received a report that the 34-year-old victim had been injured at Rivergate at around 8.30pm on Monday, February 6.
Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital.
CCTV footage and further enquiries established the victim was attacked by two men.
The first suspect is described as white and around 20-years-old. He was wearing a black Lyle and Scott jacket, white shirt, black trousers and black shoes.
The second suspect is white, around 30-years-old and was wearing a black suit, white shirt, black tie and black shoes.
Detective Constable Lee Duncan said: “The motive for this attack is unknown and it’s important we trace the two men responsible.
"I would appeal to any shoppers who were in the area at the time to contact us with any information they may have.”
