From fashion to food, an empty shop in Beeston could be given a new lease of life as a Sicilian restaurant.
A planning application for the property in Wollaton Road reveals signage for Compa, specialising in street food and patisserie.
The vacant building was previously Renaissance Fashion Agency, which sold second-hand designer clothing.
A decision on the proposals is expected in the next few weeks.
Compa, Italian for 'friend', appears to be a brand new independently-run restaurant.
There's no clue as to what will be on the menu but popular Sicilian street foods include arancini (rice balls) cannoli (sweet tube-shaped pastries) and sfincione, which is pizza-like focaccia topped with tomato and oregano sauce, onions, anchovies, breadcrumbs and cheese.
Previously Beeston residents said they would like to see something different in the town which boasts restaurants specialising in a wide range of cuisines including Greek, Indian, Thai, Turkish, Chinese, Italian and Korean.
Asked what he'd like to see when the restaurant plans were first revealed, Beeston IT technician Charlie Gills, 32 said: "I think that's a hard question because there's a bit of everything in Beeston, wherever you are, there's always a restaurant that's never too far. I'd like to see something different but I don't know."
