Sian Welby shares pregnancy update after being forced to wee on A3 amid four-hour traffic delay

Sian Welby has shared a pregnancy update after revealing she had to “urinate in the middle of the A3” amid traffic tailbacks.

The broadcaster, who is 37 weeks pregnant, took to Instagram on Wednesday to show off her baby bump.

On her Instagram Story she shared a short video of her impending arrival moving around her stomach mid-broadcast.

Welby penned: “I reckon this baby is getting fomo and wants to come out! Getting lots OG kicks this morning!” alongside a laughing-face emoji.

Her update comes after the TV star revealed how she resorted to relieving herself on the side of the road after being stuck in traffic for four hours with hardly any movement over the weekend.

Speaking on Tuesday's edition of This Morning, Welby shared that she initially rushed towards the bushes for cover, but since there were “brambles everywhere” she ended up having to wee in the middle of the road.

She shared: “I had to do a wee in the middle of the road, into the bush and I didn't dare go in there as it was full of brambles and nettles.”

The person she was traveling with caught the hilarious moment on camera, showing the TV presenter looking around in search of some privacy to go to the bathroom, which left presenters Dermot O’Leary and Josie Gibson laughing.

Fellow contributor Giles Brandreth quipped: “Is this you coming back from your wee? Now I've seen it all. Morning television isn't what it used to be, is it?”

To which O’Leary added: “The mystique is definitely gone, but who doesn't love a pee-pee rustique from time to time?”

The remarks prompted Welby to joke: “Do you know what? It was exhilarating.”

The radio presenter updated her followers on social media about the awful traffic, which took nearly five hours to clear.

When the traffic finally began to move, the pregnant star discovered that the "reported roadworks" causing the delay hadn't even happened—instead, it was just a row of traffic cones causing chaos and bringing the motorway to a standstill.
