Manchester City will face Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after the two clubs were paired together during Friday's draw in Nyon.
Atletico, fresh from eliminating Manchester United from the competition, will be tough opponents, but as always Pep Guardiola and his side will feel confident that they can reach the semi-finals for the second year running. City will host the first leg at the Etihad Stadium on either April 5th or 6th, before travelling to Madrid for the second leg on either April 12th or 13th.
The semi-final draw was also conducted, meaning that should City get past Atletico, they will face either Chelsea or Real Madrid for a place in the final. After coming so close to winning the competition last season, City supporters are desperate for the Blues to go one better and lift the trophy in Paris on May 28th.

Before thinking that far ahead though, Guardiola's side must see off a Diego Simeone side rejuvenated after some mid-season struggles. It's fair to say that along fans, the reaction to the draw was mixed.
The good
@OneAndOnly_FC: We should be winning this tie
@theblue_truth: On balance I will take that draw all day long, especially our route to the final.
@badis_japan: Mahrez faces Atletico Madrid in a revenge match for Riyad Mahrez. He previously faced Atletico Madrid with Leicester City in the Champions League quarter-final and lost it
@JoserNunez91: This has all the elements of a potential classic. Looking forward to it!
The bad
@cityzen017: Yeah we're gone... hopefully next year lads
@Tam_Corleone_: It's going to be a very tough and challenging to play against a team who they are known for their very strong and tough defending. We have to be very ready coz we usually suffer against teams who defend.
