Should workers who take cigarette breaks have it docked from their pay?

For some, smoking is something that can cause tension in the workplace. In some workplaces colleagues who smoke take more breaks compared to non-smokers, although there could be several other factors in play.

Smokers are seen as having an 'excuse' to take a quick break during the working day but do some abuse the system and is it fair? Smoking laws in the UK could change sooner rather than later as the Government plans to slowly phase out smoking.

The legal age for buying cigarettes could be raised as part of a 'radical' plan to make Britain "smoke-free" by the year 2030 although many people are sceptical.

We want to hear from both non-smokers and smokers in the workplace. If you're a non-smoker, do you feel as though your colleagues take more breaks than you?

If you're a smoker, do you feel as though you're just using your legally entitled breaks? And is this a workplace problem if non-smokers don't feel comfortable taking a break for no reason?
