According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the Denver Broncos are planning to trade star EDGE Bradley Chubb before the NFL trade deadline on November 1, if the Broncos lose to the Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend in London. Is this something the Pittsburgh Steelers should care about?
Chubb has been up and down throughout his career. He had a career-high 12.0 sacks in 2018 as a rookie but has never hit double digits since. Chubb is currently playing on his fifth-year option and the final year of his rookie contract.
Meanwhile the Steelers pass rush has completely fallen apart since T.J. Watt went down with a partially torn pectoral. The team is on pace for its worst sack season collectively since 2016 when the team had only 38. It won’t be cheap to land a player like Chubb but he could be the impact player this defense needs.
Pittsburgh has invested heavily in the defensive side of the football. And despite outside linebacker Alex Highsmith being third in the league in sacks, 3.0 of his 6.5 came in the season opener with Watt on the field and he has only had 3.5 in the past six games.
Let us know in the comments if you want to see the Steelers go all-in on Chubb or could those draft picks be better used elsewhere.
