The Cleveland Browns have seen a bit more success out of their young defensive tackle room over the past few weeks, specifically from fourth round rookie Perrion Winfrey. However, the defensive tackle room is clearly still in need of a massive facelift. After the Carolina Panthers released third-year defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon, should the Browns consider putting a waiver claim in for him?
While Nixon may not be able to get up to speed to make an impact for the Browns in 2022, he does still have one year left on his rookie contract, meaning he would be in Cleveland over the summer to compete for a roster spot. At this point, it is not a bad idea to collect young and athletic players at a position of need to compete next summer.
After claiming wide receiver Jaelon Darden last week, could the Browns do it again this week with Nixon?
