Should the Bears play Justin Fields vs. Jets in Week 12?

Bears quarterback Justin Fields is dealing with a separated left shoulder, which has his status for Sunday’s game against the Jets in question.

Fields admitted that the pain was “pretty high” when he threw during Wednesday’s walkthrough practice, where he felt it on pretty much every throw and even handoffs.

Fields said he was told by Matt Eberflus that he gets to make the final call about whether or not he plays. There’s no questioning Fields’ toughness, especially after he played through cracked ribs during the National Championship during his college days at Ohio State.

But Fields admitted that he’s not going to risk further injury — that could keep him out longer — just to play Sunday, in a game that’s definitely not as big as the National Championship.

While it’s good to hear that — as there’s no use in putting Fields at risk — there’s still a chance he could suit up Sunday. Which isn’t encouraging, considering the Jets have a dominant defense that knows how to get after the quarterback.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Fields be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Jets. And it’ll be up to Fields to determine if he’s good enough to go.

What do you think, Bears fans? Should Fields play in Week 12? Or should he take this week off?
