Should Ravens sign former Steelers LB to help fill Patrick Queen’s void?

The Baltimore Ravens saw inside linebacker Patrick Queen depart for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024 free agency. The cross-rival switch shocked many people and left a big void next to Roquan Smith in Baltimore’s defense.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report wrote an article about “bargain bin” free agents that could help teams and named former Steelers inside linebacker Kwon Alexander an option for the Ravens. Alexander has plenty of NFL experience, and he could be an option if Baltimore feels that they need more veteran savvy in their group.

“A return to Pittsburgh is unlikely, as the Steelers signed Patrick Queen and drafted Payton Wilson to bolster their linebacker corps. However, the rival Baltimore Ravens could potentially use Alexander to help replace Queen.”

The Ravens were long-prepared for Queen’s possible departure, signing Smith to an extension and drafting Trenton Simpson in the third round of the 2023 NFL draft. While Alexander would provide a veteran prescience in Baltimore’s inside linebacker room, in addition to Smith and Simpson, they have Malik Harrison, Chris Board, Josh Ross, and others waiting.
