'Should be over' - Manchester United fans share Mauricio Pochettino verdict after PSG defeat

Supporters have declared the race to become the next Manchester United manager over after watching Mauricio Pochettino and his star-studded Paris Saint-Germain team humbled by Monaco.

Despite appearing to be on a procession to the Ligue 1 title, the Parisians - including Kylian Mbappe - were beaten 3-0 against their seventh-placed opponents on Sunday afternoon. Neymar Jnr also featured, but there was no spot in the PSG line-up for seven-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi.

In his absence, goals from Wissam Ben Yedder (2) and Kevin Volland did the damage. Even after that eye-catching result, though, Pochettino and his men remain 15 points clear at the summit.

Having long since been credited with a move for the former Tottenham manager, United currently view Erik ten Hag from Ajax as their preferred candidate to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on a permanent basis. However, a final decision has yet to be made in that regard and Ralf Rangnick remains in charge as interim.

Rangnick will move upstairs at the end of this season. United, meanwhile, still want to make an announcement on their permanent successor before the campaign finishes.

Pochettino is another front-runner for the Old Trafford hot-seat and Thomas Tuchel continues to be linked due to ongoing issues at Chelsea. But the latest PSG result has raised a red flag for United supporters.
