Shotguns were found in a storage unit following a police raid.
Officers carried out the search on Hartley Avenue in Aintree on Tuesday, May 16 at around 7pm. Police discovered two shotguns and they have been forensically recovered and will be examined to establish if they are viable.
There was also suspected stolen vehicles and car parts located inside the storage unit and these items have also been seized by police.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Roberts said: “Our officers work tirelessly to take firearms off the streets of Merseyside and yesterday we managed to seize two firearms after a warrant was carried out in Aintree. Our forensic enquiries continue into this incident and I would ask that if you have any information about who stored, held or used these weapons, or any other weapon, to come forward immediately and we will take action.
“It is vital that such weapons are identified and taken out of the hands of dangerous criminals. We are committed to taking weapons off our streets and, rest assured, if you tell us about any suspected possession or offences we will take action and put those responsible before the courts.
“Merseyside Police pro-actively investigates serious organised crime including the use of guns and the supply and distribution of drugs on Merseyside and is relentless in its pursuit of offenders.
“We will always take immediate action to incidents involving guns and we are actively working to make Merseyside a safer place to live and work.”
