This year 2021 was not without its challenges, with cancelled events and business closures due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic but hopefully there are brighter times ahead this year.
After another national lockdown and a roadmap filled with restrictions, the country faced some of the biggest challenges around.
Despite delays and new Covid variants, shops, bars and restaurants have now fully reopened and new businesses continued to launch across the city.

In 2021 Liverpool welcomed a new MAC shop in Liverpool ONE, a number of new bars and restaurants, and more. And more new places are set to pop up across the city this year.
Below, we've rounded-up the shops, bars and restaurants Liverpool can expect to welcome in 2022 to give everyone something to look forward to.
Exact opening dates for some are still to be confirmed and we'll be bringing you the latest on all the openings we've mentioned below as soon as we get any updates.
Flannels

Liverpool city centre is set to welcome a huge flagship Flannels store, with seven floors and a rooftop restaurant next year.
The new store is heading to Parker Street where the brand will take over the iconic Owen Owen building .
Set over seven floors, the Liverpool shop will feature an all-new beauty destination, a rooftop restaurant and even an entire floor dedicated to leisure, activewear and sportswear.
The floor will even include a fitness studio.
Alongside Flannels’ ready-to-wear luxury fashion and streetwear, the Liverpool store will launch the first Flannels Beauty destination.
Lovisa

Liverpool ONE is set to welcome fashion jewellery brand Lovisa.
The new shop will open on lower South John Street selling 'on-trend fashion jewellery at ready-to-wear prices'.
Signs are now up in the windows of the shop advertising jobs, though no opening date has been confirmed.
Swarovski
Back in 2020 Swarovski closed its Liverpool ONE store, which made way for famous makeup brand MAC to open up shop.
However, shoppers were assured that Swarovski was not gone for good, but rather moving to a new location within the shopping centre on South John Street.
A note on the Liverpool ONE website says: “Please note, the Swarovski store will be opening soon in its new location at South John Street in Liverpool ONE.”
Tessuti

Designer retailer Tessuti is relocating into a huge new venue at Liverpool ONE.
The brand, which is part of JD Sports Group, has operated a store on Peter’s Lane since 2013, but is now making the move to Paradise Street.
The new flagship Tessuti store in Liverpool ONE, which is almost four times as large as the original store, is set to open in spring 2022 inside the former New Look store on Paradise Street.
The new Tessuti store will showcase curated ranges from established premium and luxury fashion brands and up-and-coming designers.
Some of Tessuti's favourite featured brands include BOSS, Armani, Z Zegna and Android Homme, as well as DKNY, Barbour, Michael Kors, Vivienne Westwood, Versace Jeans and many more.
Bread Street Kitchen & Bar

Gordon Ramsay is set to open a new restaurant in Liverpool city centre in 2022, with a range of signature dishes on offer.
The new venue, Bread Street Kitchen & Bar, will take over the empty unit in Liverpool ONE which was once occupied by Jamie Oliver’s Italian.
Jamie’s restaurant closed back in May 2019 after almost a decade in business, with the chain having gone into administration.
New restaurant Bread Street Kitchen & Bar will take over the 6,000 sq ft space to seat up to 195 people inside across two floors, along with additional outdoor seating and an extensive bar area.
The menu will feature all the classic Bread Street Kitchen dishes ranging from Gordon Ramsay’s signature Beef Wellington to Butter Chicken curry and the Hells Kitchen burger.
An official opening date has not yet been announced.
