A FOOD court in a shopping centre in Inverness has closed just two years after receiving £2 million in investment.
Bosses at the Eastgate Shopping Centre said they were “incredibly sad” when confirming the closure of the food court.
On Wednesday afternoon, the firm behind the Loch & Larder restaurants in the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Aramark, decided to end its venture in the shopping centre.
Two years ago, the food court had reopened after securing £2m in funding but has now closed this week.
However, Chris Kershaw, centre manager at Eastgate Centre, said they are “progressing” with another project to transform the food court and hopes that it will reopen near the end of the year.
He said: “We are incredibly sad to confirm the closure of Loch & Larder at Eastgate.
“The Loch & Larder Team have been part of the centre since February 2023, and we are immensely grateful for their contribution and dedication to serving our customers over the past two years.”
Kershaw continued: “However, we would like to let our customers know that we are progressing with an exciting project to transform the food court and have been working alongside a team of designers and market leaders to deliver a refreshed environment and new culinary experience for customers to enjoy.
“We anticipate the revamped food court will be ready to open its doors later this year.”
