Shoppers snap up heated USB blanket hoodie that 'costs less than £1.30 to run'

Shoppers have been snapping up a USB heated blanket which costs less than £1.36 a day to run, in a bid to keep from turning their heating on at home.

The electric heated blanket can be turned into a shawl or cardigan and is an ideal solution to keeping warm at home this winter. Nearly a hundred have already been bought on the deals site Wowcher since the product went live this week.

It comes as many Britons have received more changes in their energy bills this month following the energy price cap changes on October 1. Shoppers are resorting to energy-saving products, like electric blankets, Oodies and heated gloves to keep warm while at home, to prevent costly outgoings on their gas and electricity bills.

Wowcher's latest product, the USB heated blanket shawl, is said to cost shoppers only around £1.36 a day to run according to the website. It's currently priced from £15.99 instead of £49.99.

The blanket comes in a range of colours from blue, grey or brown in sizes small or large. It features a concealed buckle design and can be wrapped around your shoulders or legs.

It has a 5V low voltage which is powered by a power bank with a temperature range of 40-45 degrees. The power bank is not included but the power pouch can be charged via a USB cable charger into a USB port which is included.

Shoppers can use the blanket at home or even in the car or office. It's described as a 'perfect item for those who always feel the cold.' The small blanket measures at 45cm by 80cm and is priced from £15.99, whereas the large measures at 100cm by 70cm and is priced from £31.99 - a saving of 68% from its original price of £49.99.
