Shoppers say Lidl’s £1.49 hydrating cream does ‘same job’ as Charlotte Tilbury’s for 50 times cheaper

Budget supermarket Lidl is giving Aldi a run for its money with its latest middle aisle launch. The German supermarket is bringing back its sell-out Cien Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Cream, which is said to be a dead-ringer for Charlotte Tilbury’s much more expensive ‘magic cream’.

Aldi is well-known for stocking products that are similar to big-name brands, but Lidl’s returning moisturiser has been a serious hit with shoppers and influencers who have likened it to the £79 beauty buy.

What’s more, it shares 18 ingredients with the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream, and priced at a mere £1.49 – making it the most affordable alternative on the market at 50 times less than the coveted cream.

Shared ingredients such as Tocopheryl Acetate – an antioxidant and form of Vitamin E – and Glycerin – which helps the skin retain moisture – make Cien Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Cream a must-have purchase for those seeking hydrated, plump and glowing skin on a budget.

Hero ingredient Hyaluronic Acid means Lidl’s day cream increases skin moisture and reduces the appearance of deep-set wrinkles, while the inclusion of Ethylhexyl Salicylate absorbs UV rays to protect the skin from that winter sun.

The moisturiser is already receiving rave reviews from skincare influencers such as Scott McGlynn, who describes it as his ‘loyal friend’, as well as from customers themselves, who claim their “skin simply loves it”, that it did the “same job” as more expensive versions.

Speaking to The Express, Scott said: "I have recently been testing the Lidl Cein cream RRP £1.49 and I'm not disappointed, I can really feel the hydration, and my skin is left feeling fresh and radiant after using it.

“I did a test using this cream against a £69.00 cream and I found that it does the same job. In fact the Lidl cream went further and my skin felt more moisturised."

For a full skin care shake up, the entire Cien range can be found in Lidl stores, with each one costing less than a fiver, including Cien Q10 Night Cream for £1.49 and Cien Serum Q10, which is £2.99.

For beauty-mad Brits looking to indulge without breaking the bank, it’s the perfect bargain buy.

However, if you have always been desperate to try out the Charlotte Tilbury product, you can buy a travel sized cream for £26 on the Charlotte Tilbury website.
