If you miss the original Irn-Bru recipe, there may be another fizzy drink on the market for you.
Shoppers have been left wowed by a new drink, Brew, which is being described as a "dupe" for the original beverage. Brew contains sugar but no artificial sweeteners, with creators Scoffable coming up with the idea when the old Irn-Bru formula was axed.
Barr's original recipe is no longer used following the introduction of tax on sugary drinks as lots of fans long for a return to the good old days. The change meant the sugar content of Irn-Bru was halved and replaced with artificial sweeteners instead. Since the switch, more than 50,000 people have signed a petition demanding a U-turn.
But the new orange fizzy drink could give those longing for the sugar fix an alternative.
The Brew creators said: "We saw a gap in the market for a great tasting Scottish-made drink that gave people the choice to treat themselves. And the concept of Brew was born.
"It’s taken us more than three years to make that idea a reality. We’ve painstakingly perfected the recipe, making tweaks in tasting trial after tasting trial, until we were comfortable that we’ve got something that tastes exactly as we wanted."
The team have spend three years perfecting the recipe in order to provide an authentic tasting soft drink for fizz fans.
And after spotting the new product and giving it a try, Irn-Bru fans flocked to Facebook group Bring back Real Irn-Bru to share their thoughts.
Many agree that the drink is the closest things get to the pre-sugar tax Irn-Bru taste. However, some say the "dupe" lacks fizz.
One wrote: "Drinking mine now, definitely the closest I have tasted. It reminds me of irn bru bars but stronger with a slight cream soda aftertaste. Better than anything else out there."
Another commented: "Just had my 4th bottle of the order. The bottles are really lacking fizz and in my opinion the recipe taste is 90% like true bru. Possibly spot on if it was carbonated correctly. I will continue to support this with my fingers crossed they will sort the teething problems out."
A third said: "I loved it. Thought it was spot on with none of that sweetener aftertaste. I agree with comments that Classic Bru was fizzer. Regardless, it's far better than foamy 1901. Look forward to seeing what my friends and family think - and look forward to my next bottle."
One person wrote: "Already halfway through my first case. It’s braw. Not the same as original Irn Bru but fairly close and while I agree on the fizz, it doesn’t bother me as much. It’s gonna be really bloody difficult for anyone to get it right because Irn Bru are so guarded on their recipe, but I’d rather occasionally buy a case of this when I can afford it than give Barr any of my cash."
Another said: "I like it but my taste is divided between that and 1901."
One person wrote: "I am on my 3rd bottle I love it and I will defo be buying on a regular basis. The only thing I would say is just a bit more fizz but I still love it."
Another wrote: I've had 5 bottles, fairly enjoying it," while on person said: "Not for me. The initial taste is wonderful but unfortunately the aftertaste takes over."
Even Scottish social media influencer Dazza got in on the action, who tried the newly launched soft drink in a video posted on Facebook.
"It is like fruity but it is not fruity, it is not fruit juice, it is orange, it is called BREW, you're going to think of IRN-BRU but at the same time this is a completely separate product", he said.
Dazza laughed, "It tastes like BREW, it tastes like BREW, that is what it tastes like."
"I've tried it and I like it, it is as simple as that", he added.
