Shoppers praise 'fantastic' £25 Silentnight Oodie dupe reduced for Black Friday

Shoppers have praised an Oodie dupe reduced to £25 for being so cosy it's stopped them turning on the heating as deals on hooded blankets hot up for Black Friday.

Oodie has cut the price of its iconic hooded blankets by another £5 this Black Friday, but camping firm Go Outdoors has reduced a Silentnight dupe for the sherpa-lined cosy garments to just £25.

While the hoodie, known as a Snugsie, doesn't come in the bright colours and quirky prints that Oodies have become famous for, if you're looking for a more plain coloured option then - as you can see from the picture above - it looks pretty similar.

The hooded blanket is reduced from £90 to £25 on the site for Black Friday, but shoppers can get an additional 15% off using the code BLACK15 at checkout, taking it down to £21.25.

Devotees of the oversized hoodie, which has a kangaroo style pocket and cuffed sleeves like the Oodie, have taken to review sites to praise how cosy it is and said how it has saved them from needing to turn on their heating.

One shopper described the Snugsie as 'absolutely fantastic,' adding: "I bought two for me and the wife and we find these perfect for sitting on sofa watching TV. On these chilly evenings we haven’t put heating on yet because we are nice and toasty. I’m sure we will have to turn it on sooner or later but on a much reduced heat. I encourage you to get one of these you won’t be disappointed."

Another happy customer even described it as 'like sitting in a cloud,' adding: "It's perfect for those working from home winter days or chilling in front of the TV."

While Black Friday has traditionally been a shopping event with a focus on gadgets, Christmas gifts and toys, 2022 has seen shoppers turn to deals on air fryers, heated airers and hooded blankets to try and save money on rising bills.

Oodie launched its Black Friday sale earlier this week, with the famed super thick, Instagram-famous hooded blankets in a range of cheery prints reduced by almost half their usual price and with increasing discounts if you bought bundles of more than one. They then announced today that they would be cutting prices by another £5 for the Black Friday weekend.

Kuddly, the firm's main competitor, launched their own Black Friday deals which slightly undercut the best Oodie deal, although shoppers needed to use a special voucher code to get the price.

However this dupe from bed company Silentnight is now considerably cheaper than both, as long as you're a member of Go Outdoors.
