Argos shoppers hail cheap electric blanket that warms in 'minutes' as temperatures plummet

This year has seen a sharp rise in energy bills amongst many others such as petrol and shopping.

And because of this, people are trying to save money and layer up rather than put the heating on.

Heating the person, not the home, has become a way of dealing with the ongoing issue with the capital seeing lows of -7c this week, and it's only set to remain like this, and potentially get worse, as we near Christmas.

Taking to the Argos website, we came across the cheapest electric blanket - and safe to say it's getting rave reviews.

The Slumberdown Warm Hugs Electric Blanket, which comes in a number of sizes depending on what bed you have, is retailing for £30 and has been branded as a "great new price."

The product description reads: "The Slumberdown Warm Hugs Electric Blanket is designed to keep you nice and toasty on those cold nights. The soft touch cover with reinforced elasticated straps which run the full width of your bed ensure your blanket stays in place night after night. It's easy to use with 3 x heat settings, that can be set for your ideal time period."

In addition to its three heat settings, it is conveniently machine washable and suitable for tumble drying. It also comes with an overheating protection and a two year guarantee.

On top of these features, it has been boasted as being able to heat up within five minutes - and it seems shoppers agree.

Writing their review, one said: "As it gets pretty chilly in my daughters room, I switch on the blanket on high for 10 minutes before bed whilst she washes up & get changed. She loves how cosy her bed feels as soon as she's in. This smaller than single size electric blanket is perfect size for a toddler or Ikea short bed."

Another wrote: "I’m very happy with this product. It takes minutes to warm up and gets to a nice heat."

"Nice little electric blanket works as it should with long straps to hold it in place and easy to use controller with three settings" typed a third.

A nifty beautician added: "I use this on my beauty bed in my beauty room, for clients having facials, and it keeps them toasty without needing to put the heating on. The connection pack on the sheet is quite bulky, so it depends on where your plug and bed is at to whether it’s a problem or not. It does the job well though, and there are different settings."

The electric blanket is available on the Argos website.
