Shoppers 'find fault' in light-up Halloween Disney drinks cup from Home Bargains

A new Halloween Disney product has dropped on the shelves of Home Bargains, and shoppers have found a potential fault with part of its make-up.

The Disney drinks cup has bats, cobwebs and spooky Disney characters dotted about, topped with the infamous Mickey Mouse ears. But, the coolest part of this cup is that the whole thing lights up and flashes, making it perfect for excited kids ready to go trick-or-treating.

One savvy shopper posted a video of the cup onto a popular Facebook community page, dedicated to finding extreme bargains. They captioned the video: "Saw this cup in Home Bargains yesterday but didn’t get it so partner just had to go back and get one.

"It wasn’t until I read the tag that I realised that it actually lights up! (Has a very small button underneath). My inner child was absolutely buzzing but now my 2 year old keeps eyeballing it! great buy for only £2.99!

"Great for any Disney lovers, or just big kids like myself."

However, some shoppers have bought the product, and have found a fault with the straw that is included in the cup. Many have complained that the straw breaks rather easily.

One Facebook user wrote: "I bought it for my son as he's mickey mad and literally within an hour he bit through the straw."

Another said: "I bought this and the straw shattered in my daughters mouth, just watch out that these may be recalled as they are investigating it currently, change the straw if you can."

And a third wrote: "me and my sister bought loads for ourselves and our kids.. every single one broke. Either the lids cracked or the actual side."

Others complained about the high speed of the flashing, fearing that it could trigger epilepsy.

More comments read: "Can you put it on a lighter lightening pace? My eldest would love this but she's a photosensitive epileptic."

While others said: "Epilepsy warning!"

Some noted: "I have epilepsy and it flashes before you can read the warning on the post."

A spokesperson for Home Bargains said: "We are sorry to learn that a potential issue has been raised regarding one of our Halloween products and we are investigating this as a priority."
