PAK Foods also has stores in Derby, Stoke-on-Trent and Leicester. Joan continued: “I shop around all the time and never in one place. I think the new shop will be popular especially if it’s an international supermarket, there'll be things in stock that you can’t get from ASDA.

“It’s always a bonus if their prices are cheap too but I do think the shop will be used by many.”

Jamie Lamkin, 44 lives in Arnold. Jamie who works in a bar said: “It’s a really busy location here with people passing by all the time on the high street hopefully, that serves them well, I see there’s a new cafe-bar opening not too far too so it’s nice to see more places opening rather than closing."

Keighley Wright, 27, said: “I think it will be good to have something new. I wish them the best of luck, it seems quite tough to open a new shop at the moment but I hope it does well.”

Keighley continued: “I think it will be nice to see something new in Arnold, so much better than an empty shop. It’s a supermarket so it’s a shop that everyone can use, I think it’s good.”
