Shoppers divided over price of Boots Pigs Under Blankets Christmas sandwich

One Boots shopper spotted a new Christmas sandwich on the meal deal shelves of the store, and snapped a picture to show off to other festive fans.

The 'Pigs Under Blankets' sarnie was spotted on the Boots shelves, filled with sausages and bacon - but no cranberry sauce. The avid shopper posted the photo to a popular Facebook community page with the caption: "New Pigs Under Blankets Sandwich spotted at Boots UK", alongside a pig emoji and a Santa hat emoji.

The sandwich, worth 419 calories, garnered some popularity on the page, as 2,000 comments flooded in under the post. Not everybody was in agreement with the filling of the sandwich, or the price, as one Facebook user wrote: "Finally!!!! A Christmas themed sandwich with no disgusting cranberry sauce in it!!"

Another said: "So its a sausage and bacon sarnie.... How do they come up with these ideas?"

And a third wrote: "Sausage and bacon sandwich at an inflated price...that's what Christmas is all about these days."

More comments read: "At £3.15 for a sandwich they can keep it I will make my own."

Others said: "THREE POUND FIFTEEN For a Christmas buttie that doesn't have cranberry and 419 calories... 419 CALORIES, what did you swap the cranberry for, steroids?? And in October, really? No Boots, just NO! Massive fail... I'll wait thanks."

One added: "No good without cranberry sauce!"

And more stated: "Not Christmassy without cranberry sauce is it, just sausage and bacon without ketchup!"

Someone noted: "It needs cranberry sauce , rather dry I reckon."

And finally, one concluded: "U can shove it..no cranberry sauce."
