Shoppers can't wait to get their hands on Iceland's new snacks

One of Iceland's new savoury snacks have caused a stir online after they were featured on a popular Instagram food account.

The frozen food retailer 's new Salt & Pepper Crunchies were spotted by @newfoodsuk, and now shoppers can't wait for them to appear in store. The savoury snack, which is currently sold out online, features hash brown tater tots - or potato crunchies - created with shredded potato, blended with green peppers, red peppers and onions. It also includes a salt and pepper seasoning sachet.

Captioning an image of the coveted product, @newfoodsuk penned: "New Salt & Pepper Crunchies at Iceland! We just noticed these online at Iceland, but not in stock as of yet, guessing they will be out soon!"

The tots proved popular on the hit social media platform, with the image racking up more than 1,400 likes in just a matter of hours. Shoppers shared their thoughts in the comments section.

@newfoodsuk has a loyal following of more than 274K, and regularly updates on all the latest food releases spotted in stores up and down the country.

And Iceland shoppers can't wait to give the crunchies a go. Saffii tagged a friend and said: "shopping trip". Hannah told a friend: "omggg hash brown in any form is heaven". Jenny tagged a friend and said: "we need these ASAP!" Fi said: "yuuuuum yes!!"

Suzanne commented: "oh wow". Robyn said: "I need these!!!" Reece simply said: "unreal". Deborah added: "NEED!!!"

The popular supermarket chain boasts more than 950 stores across the country, as well as an online shopping service. The retailer is known for its extensive range of frozen food, as well as its regular releases of new products.
