Shoppers can hire wedding guest outfits from M&S, Oasis and ASOS for as little as £10

Hiring clothing still seems like such a new concept, but it's actually a great way to save money on outfits for special occasions, while being more sustainable in your shopping habits. It's something that has been trialled for a long time with more luxurious brands and has since ventured into the more affordable fashion market with the likes of HireStreet currently thriving with our favourite retailers.

In recent months there has been countless releases of new retailers added to the Hirestreet books, including ASOS and M&S's Ghost collaboration, so we had to see what the fuss was about.

The way hiring works is that once you’ve found something you love you can simply select your size, rental period, delivery date and add to bag. Hirestreet recommend you book your delivery to arrive two days before your event.

You can choose to add insurance to any of your items, which covers you against any accidental damages, with each piece being professionally cleaned by Hirestreet in between renters.

I love the idea of hiring an expensive, knockout dress for a fraction of the price and it's great that they use customer images on their website so you can really get a feel of the buzz behind the idea.

Do not get me wrong, I have always been a bit sceptical just in case anything happened to the dress but rest assured I feel like I could take good care of it knowing I had to hand it back.

With wedding season upon us rental is the more sustainable and affordable way to get a wardrobe of guest-ready looks. At Hirestreet prices start from £10 for a four day rental and brands include favourites M&S, Oasis, Nobody’s Child, Lipsy, Self Portrait, ASOS and French Connection as well as boutique finds.

This is music to my ears because, when do you ever really get to wear a stunning dress other than for a big occasion? And even then you often buy a new one each time. With the option there to hire, many more women are now reaping the benefits of not having to own dresses they will never wear again.

Hirestreet also does a bundle offer – 3 items for 30 days for £50 – perfect if you have a lot of events in one month.

This is great for those wanting to explore fashion and not be stuck with items for years collecting dust in your wardrobe.
