King Charles' Coronation is now only one week away, and shops and businesses are getting into the royal mood with a variety of themed displays that have been causing shoppers to raise their eyebrows and burst into laughter.
And it seems garden centres are no exception, as one outdoor shop has been criticised by visitors for its "awful" Coronation themed plants - which include some that have been painted to match the colours of the Union Jack.
Pictures of the red, white, and blue plants were shared on social media and sparked a debate among commenters, with many slamming the idea of putting paint on plants, as it could damage them.
A post shared on Reddit showed rows of small plants in vivid colours alongside a sign which read "Union Jack Echeveria", which is a type of succulent that grows in a rosette shape.
Several Union Jack flags had also been added to the wooden shelving unit that displayed the flowers, alongside a price tag which claimed they had been knocked down from £5 to just £2.50 per plant.
Alongside the picture, the poster jibed: "Don't forget your Coronation succulent!"
Commenters on the post were quick to share their confusion over the display, with many saying it was "tragic" and "awful" for the mystery garden centre to paint "perfectly good plants" that would likely die as a result of the colouring used.
One person wrote: "That is tragic. Why paint a perfectly good plant?"
While another added: "I hate this awful trend of covering plants in paint or glitter or supergluing fake flowers to them, they're perfectly lovely as they are."
And a third said: "Ah, the enduring market in this country for tacky rubbish. At least leave the plants out of it."
The garden centre's baffling display isn't the only questionable Coronation decision that's been made by a shop recently though, as a computer shop in Cumbria left people in hysterics with its strange King Charles doll.
Milltech Computers set up a homemade dummy of His Majesty, complete with a cardboard mask of his face strapped around the head, as well as a grey wig, a white shirt, red tie, and navy blazer - and replica medals.
The doll is also wearing a red kilt and knee-high socks, and shop staff have placed the dummy on a red and gold throne which has a diamante Union Jack display behind it.
