A Christmas decoration from The Range featuring Father Christmas and a dog in a rather questionable position, has filled customers with some festive glee - but for all the wrong reasons. A number of high street stores are already starting to crack out the seasonal decorations, but this particular one is leaving customers laughing up the aisles.
There's no doubt the 'offending' item - a two-metre-high inflatable Santa with its sidekick, an inflatable dog - is providing some light relief for all who see it. The blow-up canine is supposed to be biting Santa’s bottom, but some cheeky customers think it shows something even more naughty.
As first reported by Plymouth Live, the decoration is a new addition to The Range’s Christmas selection this year. It is described by the retailer as being "festive and funny" and they claim it's "perfect for the front garden".
The retailer’s website says: "Not only does this inflatable Santa light up, but you know it will get a few giggles from the neighbours, which is what spreading Christmas cheer is all about. Place it in your garden and watch it become the centre of attention!"
The Range probably didn’t expect ‘naughty Santa’ to have the effect it did, with many customers commenting on Facebook about the ‘d***ing’ inflatable.
The Range, however, had a pitch perfect response to the hilarity surrounding the decoration.
"There’s a little BITe of confusion surrounding this product and whether the dog is biting Santa’s bum or something a little more doggy. Sorry, dodgy! [crying with laughter emoji]. We can confirm that the dog is in fact chasing Santa – make of that what you will," they wrote on their official Facebook page.
In response to the post, Facebook users have been having a field day - with some admitting it made them do a double take in the shop.
"Santa’s face gives the game away," said one.
While another wrote: "Saw this in the local store, had to take a double look."
It certainly brightened up this woman’s day: "We laughed a lot when we saw it on Saturday, our 76-year-old neighbour was giggling like a kid, such fun."
