Shoppers are asking 'when will this madness end'? as they struggle to cope with ongoing price hikes.
One woman shared her disbelief over seemingly relentless increases after the cost of her usual pet food and pizza went up again at her local convenience store.
Posting in a budgeting Facebook group where savvy shoppers share their tips, she said: "Can't believe this. Last week ( Friday ) pizza was £1.75 now it's £1.99. Prices are going up every other day now. When will this madness end? Cat food was 75p, then 95p then £1.10 now it's £1.55 sorry rant over but this is beyond ridiculous."

Her post attracted more than 200 comments from people, mostly agreeing with her sentiment and saying that they too are 'fed up' with constantly paying more for the same items.
"I agree they are now taking the mickey," said one.
"Agreed. I needed a sit-down and a stiff drink after doing my online shop this week," said another. "Except the days are long past when I could afford to slip an occasional tot into my trolley."
Dozens of the shoppers said they too are struggling with the hikes in pet food.
"Cat food is going up so much," said one. "I moved on to tins for my lot and they rocketed in price."
"I've got 3 cats, it's so scary how much cat food has risen," said another.
And a third said she's found the same with dog food, adding: "I pay 17 pounds for 6 tins of dog food and the dry food is 50 pounds for 8 kilo then the medication on top works out about £187 a month for my dogs."
Some said they feared it will get worse, with one shopper adding: "I am dreading next winter because I am running out of ideas for how to cut back any further than we already have."
We reported last week how the price of staple food items has risen as high as 52 per cent in the past 12 months as grocery inflation continues to surge in the UK.
Figures released on Tuesday (May 2) revealed food prices soared by 15.7 per cent - the highest on record - in April, according to the latest BRC-NielsenIQ shop price index.
This increased from 15 per cent in March. Fresh food prices increased by a record 17.8 per cent year-on-year for the month while the price of tinned goods and other store-cupboard items increased 12.9 per cent.
But there is some hope on the horizon as experts have said that shoppers 'should start to see food prices come down in the coming months' amid reductions in wholesale prices and other costs.
