As we head into the colder months with energy price hikes looming, families are looking at ways to keep warm without turning the central heating on.
One way to do just that is with a portable heater and one shopper has been raving about the one she has just bought from Amazon. At £50, Stephanie Rottie said the heater was 'middle of the road' cost wise, but she would 'highly recommend it' as it heated her room and cost less than 20p to run.
Sharing details of it in the Scrimping on a budget Facebook page, she said: "I got an oil heater radiator from Amazon. Middle of the road for £50. Had it on for 2 hours on the thermostat and according to my meter cost less than 20p. My living room is so warm. Highly recommend it."

The heater is the Silentnight 7-Fin Oil Filled Radiator with Timer, 1500 Watt, 38140 and has a 4.3 out of five star rating on the website after customers praised the product.
"Perfect for heating a room," said one. "Easy to assemble, just have to assemble stand with wheels on. Works perfectly. Timer so can be switched off automatically. With the costs of energy rising saves you a lot of money. No need to put heating on."
Another described it as 'wonderful' and said: "Easy to use. Heat output is great, does not need to be on long. Does exactly what it needs too."
The heater is advertised as 'ideal for saving on energy bills by only heating the room it's in, rather than heating an entire building'.
"The space heater is designed in a compact manner, with its 7 fins allowing it to distribute heat to its surroundings without taking up too much space," says the product description.
"It also runs quietly with only a small amount of white noise, making it ideal for use during the night when sleeping.
