A new monthly market is coming to West Bridgford's Central Avenue. Called 'The Stalls' there will street food and crafts on sale on the first Saturday of every month, starting on March 4.
The Stalls will be open 11am to 5pm, but shoppers will still be able to buy online once the market has packed away. Over the coming months there will be a diverse mix of street food stands and take home foods plus the work of professional silversmiths, ceramic artists, graphic designers and illustrators, including homewares, clothing, art prints, jewellery, accessories, pottery and glassware.
The Stalls is a collaboration between two West Bridgford-based makers, Virender Rose, from Lady Bay Pop-Up Cafe and Jo McAree, of Just Jo Design. Looking for alternative ways to get their work seen, the experienced traders decided to join forces and create a market.

Jo said: "With the closure of the craft market and the much-loved shop 'Locally Produced for You', there was a real need to give professional makers, like myself a place to sell from that didn't require huge rent, a market was the obvious way forward but not just a craft market or a farmers market, a combination of them both, a street food and makers market."
Virender said the food side will showcase a diverse selection of independent micro-food businesses. "There'll be take home natural wines, craft beers and baked goods to name a few, and within street food you'll see chefs that are passionate about their food that they freshly prepare before your very eyes."
As stalls will change each month, visitors will have the opportunity to try world cuisines throughout the year such as loaded American hot dogs, falafel, gourmet burgers, luxury Japanese sushi, Lebanese, Ethiopian, Neapolitan pizzas, Jamaican stews and pastries, Persian, Indian and Mexican. Vegan and dietary needs like gluten-free will also be in the mix.
During the year the market will welcome Carly Dodsley and her award-winning mid-century inspired ceramics collection, Ford & Guy with their handmade sustainable clothing range and artist Faye Baines with original acrylic coastal paintings and prints.
Textile designer Katie Pinkney from Molly's Mum will be bringing her quirky textile gifts, accessories and homewares, while designer Rachel Mahon will have her botanical inspired art prints and homewares.
