Shooting At New Mexico Air Force Base Leaves One Dead

A shooting incident occurred at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in the early hours of Saturday, resulting in the death of one airman and the injury of another. Military officials have clarified that the incident was not an act of terrorism or an attack by an outsider.

According to a statement released by the Air Force base, security forces swiftly responded to a shooting near one of the base entrances around 2 a.m. Tragically, one airman succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while the other airman sustained a gunshot wound to the hand. The injured airman was promptly transported to a hospital for treatment and was later discharged.

At present, the Air Force has not disclosed further details regarding the incident. It remains unclear whether any individuals are in custody or if military authorities are actively seeking a suspect. Additionally, the Air Force has not confirmed whether the shooter or shooters were also airmen. The identities of the airmen involved in the shooting have not been made public.

FBI investigators, in collaboration with the Albuquerque police, are currently at the scene to gather information and evidence. The police have stated that they are not actively pursuing any suspects in connection with the incident.
