A customer dispute at CarMax in California led to a horrifying scene when the patron decided to drive their vehicle through the showroom, injuring 8 people, including two critically.

Video posted on social media showed an SUV entering the showroom in reverse, crashing into furniture located in the center of the room and spinning out. The driver puts the vehicle in drive and then crashes through the other entrance into the showroom while people scream in pain and horror.

CBS News reported that although the driver fled, he was arrested a short time later by police. His name has not been released.

Mitchell Marshall, who saw what happened, told CBS News that he saw an argument between people and the vehicle's driver.

"So then he backed up, came this way, made a big U-turn and rammed it — not once but twice," Marshall told the station. "It was totally unnecessary, whatever was going on in there."

CarMax acknowledged the incident in a statement: "This afternoon a customer drove through our Inglewood, California store, hitting and injuring several employees and customers who are receiving medical care at this time."

"We appreciate the authorities' swift response to this terrible event," the statement reads. "We are deeply saddened by this event and our heart's go out to everyone impacted."
