Shocking video shows man brutally attacked in broad daylight by group of cyclists

A mob of cyclists were captured in a video brutally attacking a man in broad daylight.

The pickup truck driver can be seen in a video shot by a bystander forcefully knocked to the ground and subjected to kicks and stomps by a group of young men.

The assault took place in a jewellery shops district in Los Angeles, California, and a witness recorded the incident from the 13th floor of an office building nearby.

The witness reportedly heard a loud commotion outside and upon looking down, he saw the violent altercation.

One of the assailants can even be seen using his bike handle to bash the victim's truck windshield.

The video shows the victim falling onto the sidewalk while being relentlessly kicked and beaten by the group of men, who shouted loudly during the assault.

The witness told KTLA how he watched approximately six or seven kids on bicycles attacking the victim as well as his parked white pickup truck.

The victim, who has not been identified, covered his head as the assailants delivered brutal kicks.

He noted that nearby jewellers came to the man's aid, successfully breaking up the fight and allowing him to retreat to his truck and drive away.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, however, the witness suggested that the victim might have accidentally hit one of the bikers and attempted to flee.

However, he said the driver must have got caught in traffic, giving the assailants an opportunity to catch up to him and initiate the violent encounter.

“That’s when they were able to catch up to him, banging on his windows, banging on his truck and then he pulled over and jumped out and he got [beaten],” the witness said. “It was horrible.”

Another witness claimed that the bikers were recklessly manoeuvring through traffic as if they "owned the road."

The victim reportedly honked at them after they cut him off, further aggravating the situation.

Another witness, Roman Kim, who owns a jewellery store nearby, told ABC: "There are six guys on their bikes, just swerving in and out like they own the road, which is kind of nuts because with how busy everything is, you can't really be doing this.

"But I guess the guy in the truck was honking at them because he got cut off in traffic."

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said it received a call reporting the presence of ten males on bicycles, ranging from 15 to 18 years old.

However, by the time officers arrived at the scene, all parties involved had dispersed.
