A shocking photo shows a crushed lorry after a serious crash which closed the A1 northbound in County Durham.
Luckily, the lorry driver managed to escape being seriously hurt but was treated in hospital for minor injuries.
The cab of the lorry slammed into the foot of an overhead bridge leaving the vehicle completely wrecked.
Shortly before 7am on Thursday, officers received a report that a Scania truck had crashed on the A1(M) at Bradbury.
The lorry collided with the interchange concrete bridge near Junction 60 and was taken to the James Cook hospital in Middlesbrough to be treated for chest injuries.

Major disruption was caused for commuters, who had to divert from the northbound road using the exit and entry slip roads.
The road remained closed until Friday morning as repair work took place.
Police are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Officers want to thank drivers for their patience during the incident.
"Anyone with any information, particularly dashcam footage, is asked to contact PC Gavin Reay by emailing gavin.reay@durham.police.uk quoting incident reference number 38 of January 27."
